Eastern Sierra Winter Sports

The Eastern Sierra is a world-renown destitation for winter sports. Mammoth Mountain Ski Area is California's premiere resort for skiers and riders. With 3,100 vertical feet, 3,500 skiable acres and 400 inches of snow per year, the powder is plentiful and the season is long. Just up the road is June Mountain Ski Resort featuring over 500 acres of terrain served by seven chairlifts, with more than 2,500 vertical feet of elevation. Other winter adventure incudes snowmobile tours and cross country skiing, snowshoeing and dog sled rides.

Resort Skiing

Mammoth Mountain Ski Area

Professionals and Olympians love Mammoth Mountain for its spectacular terrain parks, the mountains of fine snow that dump on its slopes, sunny skies five days out of six, and an uncommonly long ski season that stretches from mid-November into late spring.

Mammoth, actually, a simmering volcano with a rounded, denuded dome towering over a sea of evergreens, has 28 lifts spread over 3,500 acres. Also, there are three terrain parks packing three world-class half-pipes, 46 jumps and 40 jibs on 75 acres. Visit Mammoth Mountain web site.

June Mountain Ski Area

June Mountain has a height difference of 2,580 feet which is more than enough for a magnificent top to bottom run. The snow here gets truly deep, 21 feet annually, and that is one of the reasons this is such a glorious ski resort.

June Mountain is a cozier than average ski mountain with a roughly average altitude difference when compared to other west coast ski hills. With a sum of 37 runs to ski on; it's a magnificent diversity. This ski area has 500 acres of skiable land. Visit June Mountain web site.
